Now that it’s February, just want to let everyone know that by clicking January under archives you can take a look at all of January’s posts. This may take a while to load since it will show all posts. You can also click back to January on the Calender to bring up the January calendar and see posts from any given day by clicking on that day.
Thank you, everyone for continuing to write to Nick. It is so important that he hears our positive words.
I’ve changed the style of the website. If you don’t like it you can change to the old style by choosing default from the drop down box on the right under Style. (You can also experiment with any of the other styles to find one that is right for you)
If the change is giving you problems e-mail me at colin@macnaughton.com
Click on the photo gallery link on the right or go directly to nicksrecovery.com/gallery. From there you can look at photos that have been posted. Or you can register and create your own album where you can add photos. This may be a little tricky for some users so if you have some photos that you want some help with getting posted let me know. (colin@macnaughton.com)
I’ve posted some photos already.
For those that want to try it on their own do the following:
-Register at http://nicksrecovery.com/gallery
-Choose ‘new album’
-Then select ‘add photos’ from the drop down box. (Make sure your browser isn’t blocking popups)
-Click the ‘form’ tab and choose the photos you want to upload (anything larger than 1mb won’t work).
If you have a lot of photos the best thing to do is this:
1. Upload the photos to my ftp site.
-Open your browser and go to ftp://ftp.macn.net/nicholas/photos
-Create a new folder by right clicking and choosing new folder.
-Copy your photos and paste into the new folder.
2. Add photos same steps as above but after choosing ‘add photos’ click the ‘URL’ tab
-In the url tab type http://www.macn.net/nicholas/photos/
(your-folder-name is the folder you created in the first step.
-Click the submit button and follow the wizard through.
-Really make sure your browser isn’t blocking popups.
This site is open to everyone. Clicking register on the right will allow you to create a username/password. Once you’ve done this you will be able to login and post your own messages.
I’ve currently created 4 basic categories from which you should choose when posting:
-Updates: Are what the family can use to send out status on nick’s condition.
-E-mail: If you send e-mail to blog@nicksrecovery.com your messages will show up here, (I have to work the kinks out so hold off on this for now).
-General: Just for talking. To keep things organized you can add comments to any post that some one makes.
-Benefit Concert: The idea has been floated that a benefit concert be put together. Money raised could help pay for the costs of getting Nick extracted to the states.
-Info: Stuff about the site. Post any ideas or comments on the site here.
What other categories. Let me know if you have any ideas … I’ll add them.
I’m am currently trying to work out a way in which we can easily share photos. This is currently supported as an option to upload when you login, but it is not very intuitive and is a little bit of a hassle. The site this is hosted on has about a gigabit of space so I’ll be working to make photo sharing easier.
I will also be working on getting previous e-mails posted on the site so that we have a complete record. For those of you that have sent letters to Nick through me, I’ll ask if you mind it being posted.
Please e-mail me anytime with questions on the site: colin@macnaughton.com

Dear Colin,
